2023/24

Ms. Edris’s season includes five role debuts and several house debuts, including: Mimi in La bohème at the Canadian Opera Company, Liu in Turandot at Teatro di San Carlo in Naples, the title role in Thaïs at Opéra de Toulon, Beatriz in The Exterminating Angel at Opéra national de Paris, Beethoven 9 in Luxembourg, and a recital tour of North America alongside tenor Pene Pati and pianist Robert Mollicone. In the summer, she adds another French Meyerbeer role to her repertoire as she debut Berthe in Le Prophète.

Ms. Edris returns to the Canadian Opera Company for her role debut as Mimi in La Bohème alongside Pene Pati as Rodolfo.

Ms. Edris makes her role debut as Liu in Puccini’s Turandot at the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples, also marking her house debut.

Beethoven 9

SOPRANO | PHILHARMONIE LUXEMBOURG

Ms. Edris performs Beethoven’s 9th symphony for the first time, alongside Agata Schmidt (alto), Amitai Pati (tenor), and Alexander Tsymbalyuk (bass), and the Luxembourg Philharmonic, conducted by Laurence Equilbey. This special New Year’s Eve performance also includes an acrobatic troupe, C!rca.

Ms. Edris adds another French role to her repertoire, the title-role in Massenet’s Thaïs at Opéra de Toulon, marking both her house and role debut.

Ms. Edris makes her third role debut of the season as Beatriz in the French premiere of Thomas Adès’ contemporary opera, The Exterminating Angel at Opéra de Paris.

Ms. Edris joins her husband tenor Pene Pati and pianist Robert Mollicone on a series of recitals through North America. Featured in the programme are works by Duparc, Boulanger, Britten, Heggie, traditional songs from Egypt and Samoa, and more.

BERTHE | BARD MUSIC FESTIVAL

Ms. Edris makes her role debut as Berthe in Meyerbeer’s Le Prophète. This is Ms. Edris’ second French Meyerbeer role, having performed and recorded Alice in Robert le Diable.
